I am working toward the rank of Eagle Scout. One of the requirements to achieve this is to ask
for letters of reference from persons whom I personally know, and can attest to my character. I
am asking if you would please write a letter of recommendation for me.
The reference letter you prepare should address my character, leadership abilities, interactions
with other persons and any other information you feel would be helpful in portraying what type
of person I am. Your letter of reference will be used during the Eagle Scout Board of Review for
the final determination regarding my qualification for the rank of Eagle Scout.
To prevent any delays, it would be greatly appreciated if you would complete your
recommendation soon, and within the next month at the latest. Please do not mail your letter
to me. To keep the confidentiality of your letter I have enclosed a stamped, pre-addressed
envelope to the Chairman of my District’s Eagle Committee.
